AcornArtwork Blog launched

After some intense coding, googling, fixing and learning, it’s finally done! I’ve implemented a blog, powered by Wordpress, with a theme that integrates seamlessly with AcornArtwork’s design. The rest of AcornArtwork is still all custom work.
In my new blog I’ll be posting frequently about topics related to digital painting, web design and 3D work. I plan to post tutorials, guides, and links to external resources that meet my high standards, as well as work in progress and new additions to my portfolio. You can check out the About page to get a better picture of who I am, and my Portfolio to see my work. I also have another blog, which mainly covers personal events and gaming. But I don’t consider it a suitable place for posting topics related to my portfolio and artwork, and having a separate blog on the same domain as my portfolio is a great way to show off my work in one centralized and easy to access place.
But, do we really need another blog posting more tutorials, guides and external links or resources? I believe that one can never get too much information. The Internet is a vast place of tutorials, resources and guides, covering both specific and general topics, some more available or easier accessible than others. After having experienced probably years worth of searching in the Internet alone, I’ve learned that it’s very rare to find a simple, direct answer or solution to your question or problem in one single place. So in order to find my answer I often have had to assemble pieces of information from here and there, which naturally leads to new and unknown issues when combining the pieces. You certainly learn a lot by trial and error, but it takes time. And that’s one of the reasons I started this blog, I wanted to publish my assembled pieces of information to the public, rounded up nicely in one place. And I’m hoping that one day, some of it will be a good help for someone else who is seeking for an answer to their question.
I also plan to publish portfolio-related posts, such as work in progress, portfolio additions, personal projects and goals I set for myself. I hope to use this blog as a place where I can publish sketches, personal projects with ideas and progress, and paintings or work in progress that are not included in my portfolio. I haven’t really set any limit or laid a solid plan for what to post in this blog at this point, so stay tuned – maybe someday I’ll have a solution for just your question, or a project you might find interesting to follow!
